Summer Sun

With the wonderful climate and scenery and the endless activities at your disposal, summer in the Alps is a fantastic experience.

Planchamp is particularly peaceful and quiet other than the local cows and their bells which the farmer comes to hand milk on his stool twice a day.

Planchamp and Villaroger are a walkers paradise being on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. The public road ends at the chalet, but a track continues on providing walkers with limitless well marked routes crossing the mountains with spectacular views.

For more adventurous walkers there are guides available for summit routes.

Mountain Biking is very popular in nearby Les Arcs with designated routes, and bike access on certain chairlifts which remain open in the summer.

Water sports are plentiful using the Isere River and local lakes. There is an international kayaking course at the watersports centre just outside Bourg St Maurice, and white water rafting, canyoning, canoeing and hydrospeed are all available.

Windsurfing and sailing are possible in nearby Tignes. There is an Olympic sized swimming pool in Bourg St Maurice which also has a fantastic outdoor pool with a high diving board.

Golf, tennis, climbing, horseriding, paragliding, fishing and of course summer skiing are all on your doorstep.
